Jacqueline D. 'Jackie' Huggins of Tamaroa

Jacqueline D. "Jackie" Huggins, 75, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020 at the Fairview Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Du Quoin.

Jackie was a homemaker and also worked at the Pinckneyville High School cafeteria. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Dec. 12, 1944 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the daughter of James and Lois (Cash) Slover.

She married Ronald L. Huggins on Sept. 15, 1967 at the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2016.

Jackie is survived by her son, Dan (Dawn) Huggins of Pocahontas, Illinois; her daughter, Julie (Ben) Metcalf of Avon, Indiana; four grandchildren, Anthony Huggins, Keegan Metcalf, Kaleigh Metcalf and Kolton Metcalf; a sister, Loas Zettler of Tamaroa; and two brothers, George (Dee) Slover of Tamaroa and David (Randee) Slover of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin, with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Phase 4 of Restore Illinois permits up to 50 attendees at graveside. All guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

All friends and family are requested to go directly to the cemetery.

Friends are invited to make memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund; they will be accepted at the funeral home.
