Virginia L. 'Jenny' Davis of Carrier Mills

Virginia L. "Jenny" Davis, age 90, resident of Carrier Mills, passed away peacefully with family at her side at 1:13 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in Williamson County on Feb. 4, 1930, daughter of the late Cecil Harrison Fox and Estel (Swan) Fox.

Virginia married Billy J. Davis in Henderson, Kentucky on Sept. 8, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1974.

She retired from the Carrier Mills Nursing Home and was the oldest member of the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church since 1957, where she was very active.

She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Sloan of Carrier Mills; son, Terry (Stephanie) Davis of Carrier Mills; grandchildren, Angie (Shannon) Rone, Billy Partain, and Taylor Davis; great-grandchildren, Travis (Kristi) Parks, Max (Tiffany) Parks, Garrett Hill and Shanna Rone; step great-grandchildren, Megan Rone Williams and Jacklynn Stennett; great-great-grandchildren, Isaac Parks, Tinley Parks, Lane Parks and Paisley Hill; step great-great grandchildren, Olivia Hampton, Maddie McCord and Walker Stennett; her twin sister, Kathryn Black of Marion; several nieces and nephews; and her special church family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Dana Parks; and sisters, Loudene Blackman, Reathel Wilkins and an infant sister.

Graveside services will precede burial at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.

The Rev. Charles Curry will officiate.

Those planning to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the service time with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the preferred choice of remembrance would be memorials in her memory to the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church.

Envelopes will be available at the graveside service.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
