Sheri Lynn Ellis-Puttmann of Marion

Sheri Lynn Ellis-Puttmann, 54, of Marion, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:11 p.m., Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 at Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion.

Sheri was born May 4, 1966 in Herrin to Kenneth Dale and Lucinda (Rowland) Ellis Sr. She was a 1984 graduate of Johnston City High School. After high school, she continued her education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she received her bachelor's degree in Social Work. She worked for Liberty House in Marion for many years.

Sheri loved the Lord and was member of Royalton Baptist Church. Sheri had a servants heart and would go out of her way to make sure those around her were taken care of. She loved to work with the elderly and those with special needs. She volunteered with activities at Helia nursing home while being a resident. She enjoyed playing bingo with the other residents and seeing them all have a good time. Sheri loved to watch Hallmark movies and do crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her parents, Kenneth and Cindy Ellis Sr. of Marion; two sisters, Jeanne (Joe) Campanella of Vienna and Kay (Stephen) Gabby of Marion; brother, Kenneth Ellis Jr. of Marion; two nieces, Chelsanna (Tyler) Yager and Zoey Campanella; three nephews, Dalton Ellis, Dylan Ellis, and Landon Gabby. She is also survived by several great-nieces, nephews and many special friends whom she loved.

She is preceded in death by her paternal & maternal grandparents, uncles and nephew, Chris Puttmann.

Graveside service will be at noon on Friday, Nov. 27, 2020 at Lake Creek Cemetery in Marion with Pastor David Nolen officiating.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis CARE Animal Shelter-No Kill Animal Shelter. Memorial envelopes will be available at the cemetery the day of service.
