Terry Wayne Bailey of Stonefort

Terry Wayne Bailey, age 75, of rural Stonefort in the Dykersburg community passed away at 1:44 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at his home.

Terry was born on Feb. 12, 1945 in Harrisburg to the late H.L. (Bill) and Edna (Butch) Barnes Bailey. He retired from Peabody Will Scarlet Mine. He attended the Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Stonefort Masonic Lodge No. 459.

He had a passion for hunting, and had had a great day at his deer camp the day before he passed away. He was a president and 25-year member of the Little Egypt Baseball Association and was one of the founders of the Khoury League. He coached sports from Khoury League to American Legion baseball for more than 57 years and loved every minute of it. Terry was the former owner of Triple T Cedar Lake Camp Ground and T & T Rodeo Co.

Terry married the former Darlene Reynolds Murphy on Dec. 22, 1992.

He is survived by his wife Darlene; three sons, Tim and wife Dawn Bailey of Stonefort, Todd Bailey of Pittsburg and Ty Bailey (Libby McGinley) of Stonefort; five grandchildren, Tacie, Trey, Taryn, Tanner, and Tori Bailey; brothers, Jerry Bailey of Crab Orchard and Kevin and wife Carla Bailey of Pittsburg; sister, Sandy and her husband Tom Simpson of Marion; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020 at the Stonefort General Baptist Church in Stonefort the Rev. Jeff Owens officiating. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Burial will be in the Coal Bank Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Crab Orchard School - Baseball Athletics in Terry's memory. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place; wearing of a mask and social distancing is highly recommended.
