Bart Alan Funk, 49, of Mt. Olive, Illinois and formerly of Elkville, Illinois, passed away at 10:59 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
Bart was an area manager for Schwan's Food Service. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed sports in general. He is gone too soon and will be in our hearts forever.
He was born Dec. 22, 1971 at Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of Timothy and Charla Jean (Mozi) Funk.
He married Paula M. Moreno on June 12, 2010 at Carbondale, Illinois and she survives.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Braylyn Funk of Du Quoin; his father, Timothy (Cindy) Funk of Elkville; three brothers, Brandon (Valerie) Funk of Elkville, Bryan (Jill) Funk of Du Quoin and Bryer (Wendi) Funk of Du Quoin; one sister, Brooke Funk of Elkville; four nephews, Gage Funk, Reed Funk, Gannyn Funk and Mabrey Funk; three nieces, Emma Funk, Kelby Funk and Addison Funk; and an enormous extended family that loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at the Elkville Cemetery in Elkville with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.
Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask and asked to use social distancing guidelines.
A celebration of life service will be planned for the summer.
In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to make memorials to the family for Braylyn's education with donations made to Paula Funk; or to Disabled American Veterans. These will be accepted at the funeral home.
