Marsha (Gibbs) Norman-Hill of Harrisburg

Marsha (Gibbs) Norman-Hill, age 71, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 2, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Brenice Gibbs, and siblings, Ann Leinenbach, Richard Hedger, Bobby Hedger, James Gibbs, Leroy Gibbs, Wilson Gibbs, and George Gibbs.

Marsha is survived by her three children, Patricia, Thomas, and Marsha Lynn; her three grandchildren, Ashley, Sandra, and McKenzie; and one great grandchild, Liam.

Marsha was a graduate of Harrisburg High School and Southeastern Illinois College. She owned two businesses in her lifetime, "Marsha's Cakes and Pies" and a housekeeping business. She retired from housekeeping in about 2014. She was a member and known as "Sister Marsha" at the River of Life United Pentecostal Church. In her younger years and before illness ravaged her body, her belief was, "if the doors are open, you better be at church!" Marsha never missed a good church service or a good yard sale! "You just never know what you'll find," she would say. (And possibly correct about both.)

A graveside service will be held with social distancing at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Sunset Lawn cemetery. Pastor Bobby Gentry of the River of Life United Pentecostal Church will officiate. Robin Johnston will be singing two songs that Marsha loved to hear her sing!

In lieu of flowers, the family asks all donations be made to the River of Life United Pentecostal Church in Harrisburg in her memory. She loved her church, church family, and her pastor.

Blessed Mama
