Dorothy A. Eggemeyer of Chester

Dorothy A. Eggemeyer, 87, of Chester, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Coulterville Care Center, in Coulterville, Illinois.

Dorothy was born Dec. 3, 1933 in Thebes, Illinois, to Loyd and Lola Gibbs Minton. She married Raynold Eggemeyer on Oct. 1, 1955 in Walsh, Illinois and he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2010.

Dorothy was the business manager for the Sparta school district for 35 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh, the Randolph County Homemakers Education Association, and the Red Hat Society.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Rudy (Julie) Eggemeyer of Chester and Cindy Eggemeyer of River Forest, Illinois; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jeremy) Mueller and Adam (Jessica) Eggemeyer; great-grandchildren, Mallory and Cara Mueller and Owen Eggemeyer; and a special niece, LeeAnn Conyers of Batesville, Arkansas.

Besides her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and stepmother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh, with Minister Debra Rathert officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, Illinois and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
