Marla Gaye Mitchell of Du Quoin

Marla Gaye Mitchell, 65, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Marla had been a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 5, 1955 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse and Violet (Hall) Kennedy.

She is survived by her daughter, Mindy Mitchell of California; her son, Cody Kennedy of Du Quoin; four sisters, Janis (Johnny) Jokisch of Texas, Glenna (Larry) Pfau of Pinckneyville, Dianne (Larry) Sims of Du Quoin and Karen Keller of Vermont; and one brother, David (Crystal) Kennedy of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Emily Pfau.

Family services will be held at a later date at the Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Du Quoin, where she will be buried.

Friends may make memorials to the donor's choice, and they will be accepted at the funeral home.
