Tina Marie Jenkel of Pinckneyville

Tina Marie Jenkel, age 78, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, passed away at 4:37 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed.

Tina was born on May 25, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter to Fredrick and Christina (Epplin) Buettner. On Nov. 23, 1963, she married Jack D. Jenkel in Pinckneyville, and he survives.

Tina worked for the Pinckneyville Garment Factory and retired from Roe Abstract & Title Inc. in 2013. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, and was a former member of Catholic Daughters.

She loved going to grandchildren's ballgames, traveling, quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Jack D. Jenkel of Pinckneyville; six children, Michael (Barbara) Jenkel of Pinckneyville, RaiDean (Bruce) Landreth of Iuka, Illinois, Traci (Dale) Jenkel of Ava, Illinois, Scott (Tammy) Jenkel of Pinckneyville, Beverly Baxter of Du Quoin, Illinois and Clay (Laurie) Jenkel of Tamaroa, Illinois; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward (Barb) Buettner and Ralph (Kim) Buettner; and two children Tina helped raise, Timothy (Rhiannon) Lynch of Elmore, Ohio and Tommy (Sylvie) Jausel of Fernandina Beach, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jonathan Daryl "J.D." Jenkel; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Wadkins; one brother, Fredrick Buettner; and two nieces, April Jenkel and RaiDean Jenkel.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville, with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be at St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville. Visitation will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31 and again from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.
