John Gerald 'Jerry' Kelly of Coulterville

John Gerald "Jerry" Kelly, age 78, of Coulterville, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at Coulterville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Coulterville.

Jerry was born in Sparta on Feb. 13, 1943, the son of John Newton and Osa Jane (Bird) Kelly. He was united in marriage to Cheryl J. Reidelberger on Oct. 13, 1972, in Bastrop, Louisiana. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2004. Together, they shared 32 years of marriage.

Jerry was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1965-1967. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a production scheduler at Decca/MCA/Universal Records in Pinckneyville for many years.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Jean and Wayne Reynolds of Pinckneyville; son, John Patrick Kelly of Coulterville; grandchildren Ava and Gabe Hackworth of Pinckneyville; and Janet Horner of Coulterville, who was raised like a sister to John.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife.

As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at Swanwick Bethel Cemetery in Coulterville.
