Vicki D. Odum of Carrier Mills

Vicki D. Odum, age 74 of Carrier Mills, passed away at her home on Thursday, Oct. 14.

She was born on May 17, 1948 in Harrisburg to John and Lila Lewis Hill. She was married to Kendall Odum on Nov. 27, 1981 and he survives.

She worked in the engineering department at Amax Coal and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the UMW of the church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Dr. Katy (Dr. Quincy) Scott of Marion, Illinois, Rosy (Tim) Staley of Nashville, Illinois and Nancy Henderson of Herrin, Illinois; three sons, John Odum of Champaign, Illinois, Warren Odum of Stonefort, Illinois, and Lance (Stacy) Odum of Carrier Mills; two sisters, Valerie Sedmack of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and Vanessa (Johnny) Helms of Marengo, Ohio; two brothers, Vaughn (Ramona) Hill of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Vance Hill; 16 granddaughters; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and the service starts at 11 a.m.
