Naaman Griffith of Coulterville

Naaman Griffith, age 66, of Coulterville, Illinois, formerly of Tamaroa, Illinois, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Naaman was born on July 3, 1955 in Du Quoin, Illinois, a son to Oren and Bonnie L. (Carter) Griffith. Naaman worked as a welder and fabricator for mine cars at the A.L. Lee Corp. in Mt. Vernon, Illinois for 20 years.

He enjoyed outdoor activities like camping, fishing and gardening. Naaman loved walking his dog, Shiloh and might often be recognized as the guy in the little blue truck with the big white dog in the back.

Survivors include his two sons, Travis (Julie) Griffith of Pinckneyville, Illinois and Troy (Amanda) Griffith of O'Fallon, Illinois; a daughter, Melissa (Sean) Franklin of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Lisa Ginn and Tanya Moore; three grandsons; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his greatest companion, his beloved dog, Shiloh.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, with Brother Rob Mathis officiating.

Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home prior to the service, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Perry County Humane Society.
