Marialice Thomason of Carrier Mills

Marialice Thomason, 80, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, died at 3:49 p.m. on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will start at 10 a.m., an hour before the service. The Rev. Jonathon Stevens will officiate, and inurnment will be at a later date in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.

Marialice was born on Aug. 19, 1941 in Raleigh, Illinois to the late James Luther and Anna Louise (Burns) Yarber.

She married Lamar "Tom" Thomason on March 3, 1979 and he preceded in death on March 25, 2016.

Marialice was a retired nurse, and she was a foster mother for many, many children through the years. She loved to crochet and sing. She was a Baptist by faith.

She is survived by 11 children: Dawn Wilson of Ohio; Wendy Cook of Carrier Mills; Jerry Kapanka of Iowa; Bryan Clark of Michigan; Suzie Cochrane of Canada; Allen Clark of Florida; Michelle Lelacheur of Michigan; LaDea Allen of Carrier Mills; Christy Sharp of Carrier Mills; Donald Clark Jr. of Michigan and Kerry Thomason of Michigan.

She is also survived by two brothers, Don Yarber of Morganfield, Kentucky and James Yarber of Henderson, Kentucky; two sisters, Gertie Pittman of Henderson, Kentucky and Reba Rogers of Washington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her Dobbie.

Marialice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Kevin Smith and Kenneth Smith; a daughter, Debbie Clark; and four brothers and one sister.
