4.8 Inches of Rain in Du Quoin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Phil Brandenburg, superintendent of Du Quoin's wastewater reclamation plant, said the plant recorded a total of 4.8 inches of rainfall over the weekend. That includes 3.8 inches of rainfall on Saturday and 1 inch on Sunday. Rains caused heavy flooding across Du Quoin and lighting strikes were responsible for a handful of power outages. Except for emergency lighting, loss of power left the Du Quoin Wal-Mart dark for a short time on Saturday.
