River-to-River Trail Society plans wildflower hike April 23

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - The River-to-River Trail Society will hold its eighth guided hike of the spring hiking season on Apr. 23.

The hike will be a wildflower hike at Panther Den in Union County, led by noted Illinois botanist Chris Benda

This hike, free and open to the public, is of moderate difficulty intended for people in good health who have done some walking.

Hiking sticks and boots or sturdy shoes are strongly recommended.

Hikers should bring their own water and a snack, and dogs are not allowed.

Hikers should meet at 10 a.m., at Goreville Park, on West Main Street (Goreville Road), in Goreville, Illinois. This is a change from the meeting place announced previously.
