Bulldogs Bite Du Quoin
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harrisburg snapped an eight-year losing streak to Du Quoin Friday night, and did so in very convincing manner. The host Bulldogs rolled up 311 yards in total offense- all but 14 yards on the ground- and steamrolled past the Tribe, 41-12 at Taylor Field.
The Indians, 1-1, host winless Herrin (0-2) next week.
Du Quoin's only scores came on a 17-yard run by Matt Gossett early in the third quarter and a 45-yard pass from Gossett to David Rose.
Harrisburg fullback Dawson Montfort rambled for 120 yards and scored three times. Running mate Isaac Behme added 91 yards. Jon David Rollins added 65 yards and put the Bulldogs up early with a 78-yard first quarter punt return TD.
Du Quoin had 71 yards rushing for senior halfback David Gaytan. Gossett passed for 59 yards.
