Flu vaccine at senior citizen sites

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Randolph County Health Department will again this year partner with the retired and Senior Volunteer Program in Randolph County to provide flu vaccine at all the Senior Citizen Sites.

People eligible to receive the flu vaccine at the sites are persons of high risk which include: people 50 years of age and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, people who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu.

If you have a valid Medicare Part B card you must bring it with you the day of the flu clinic to bill the flu vaccine to Medicare.

Everyone with a valid Medicare card will be required to pay a fee. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan as your supplemental insurance, it will be necessary for you to receive your flu shot at your doctor's office or pay the $30.00 fee.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program sponsored by Western Egyptian EOC will assist the health department with volunteers.

Three clinics have been scheduled as follows:

September 16, 2009 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. - Steeleville Senior Center-107 W Broadway.

September 18, 2009 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. - Chester Senior Center located at the Chester Masonic Hall top floor-805 State Street.

September 18, 2009 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. - Prairie Du Rocher City Hall.
