A special event of the reception will be at 1:30 p.m. with the unveiling of a bronze statue of Roscoe Misselhorn at his sketch table which was sculpted and cast by the Drueke Brothers, formerly of Sparta. The bronze, as well as the Gallery Museum itself, is dedicated to Roscoe Misselhorn and his lifetime of artistic works.
Refreshments will also be served and there will be a special gift for the first 200 guests.
Leading up to this Open House Reception there have been lots of additions to the Gallery. The Garden Club of Sparta has planted a new flower bed in the Caboose Garden area and a flag pole has been added. New Misselhorn originals and water colored lithographs signed by Roscoe have been acquired and placed as well.
The museum continues to showcase approximately 3000 Roscoe Misselhorn originals, an art library, an "In the Heat of the Night" display and railroad memorabalia. A Traveling Misselhorn Display has been placed in area businesses to advertise the Open House and to invite the public. After the Open House, the display will continue to travel to area schools or businesses to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Misselhorn Art Foundation.
