</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Planning continues for the annual Christmas Walk and Home Tour in Steeleville sponsored by St. Mark's PTL. This year's event will be held Sunday, December 12.

A luncheon will be served from 11-1 in the St. Mark's school cafeteria. The menu will include soup, sandwich, drink and dessert at a ticket price of $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

This year there will be 4 homes and 2 churches included on the tour. The homes featured on the tour include: Gerald & Julie Mumbower at 401 Crestview, Joel & Karen Hepp at 406 Queen Ann Court, Wally & Vickie Wathen at 4407 Rockcastle Road and Kim Rasnick at 5656 State Route 4. The Wathen home includes a live Santa and sleigh in the front lawn. The first church on the tour is St. Peter Lutheran Church in Wine Hill, celebrating their 150th year. The other church is St. Mark Lutheran and there will be a live nativity inside the church. Tickets for the home and church tour are $10.00 and will be available for purchase at St. Mark's School on the day of the walk. A combo tour and lunch ticket is also available for $15.00.

Activities include various craft and vendors at St. Mark's school from 10-3:00. The gym is already full with vendors, so this would be a great time to purchase Christmas presents. A NEW feature this year is a gift wrapping service that will be available from 10-3. You can drop your unwrapped gifts off at the school while you look at crafts and tour the homes. When you are finished, pick up your wrapped gifts. The cost for the gift wrapping service will run $1.00 for a small package, $1.50 for a medium package, large packages priced accordingly.

Local businesses open the day of the tour include Sew Calico/Memory Lane open from 12-4. Garden Gate Florist and Gifts in Percy will also be open from 2-4. Anyone with a purchased tour ticket will receive a free ornament from Garden Gate.
