Annual Tax Levy Ordinance approved

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ At the Chester City Council meeting, held Monday, December 6 the council passed the Annual Tax Levy Ordinance in the amount of $127,194.

The council discussed possible refinancing of Waterworks and Sewerage System Alternative Revenue Bonds, Series 2002 (Bernardi Securities). The finance committe will meet with the auditor and come back to the next council meeting.

The proposal of J.W. Boyle & Co., Ltd. for auditing services for year ended April 30, 2011 was approved in the amount of $23,700.

The council authorized a change of life insurance company to Standard Insurance Company.

The council approved City Attorney Jeff Kerkhover to amend the Tourism Commission Ordinance to increase membership to 9 members. kerkhover will come back to the next meeting with the ordinance.

The TIF Accounting for Chester Center, Inc. was approved in the amount of $12,971.40

Richard Mueller was approved to plant a Spring crop on city property.

$50 gift cards from?Rozier's were approved for all full time employees.

The 2011 contribution invoice/renewal for Illinois Municipal League Risk Management Association was approved. The premium went up $100,00 this year, bringing the amount to a little bit over $502,000.

Congressman Costello's district office lease extension was approved until January 2013.

The council discussed the appointment of a Code Enforcement Officer. The Mayor is going to advertise for the position.
