</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Board of Education of Chester Community Unit School District No. 139 met in the Chester School District Unit Office on January 20, 2011. President Beers called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Todd Jones with Meverts spoke to the Board about the Grade School & High School Health Life Safety Projects and the concession stands projects.
Terri Franklin, Curriculum Assistant, presented the Board information from the Discovery Assessment, Explore, Plan, ACT & PSAE Data.
Charlie Bargman updated the Board on the OSLAD Grant.
Jeff Nolda spoke with the Board about custodian employment.
The Board approved the minutes for the Regular Meeting and Executive Session of December 16, 2010
The Board approved the minutes for the Special meeting and Executive Session of January 3, 2011.
The Board approved the minutes for the Special meeting and Executive Session of January 11, 2011.
Mr. Lochhead, Grade School Principal, reported to the Board of Education:
January 10th was 5-8th DFY Assembly for Sports Teams
Ms. Keim, District Superintendent, reported to the Board of Education:
Ms. Keim updated the Board on the Abatement of Working Cash.
Ms. Keim updated the Board on the Fund Balances.
The Board approved the district bills in the amount of $2,001,114.62 and district payroll in the amount of $412,029.79 as presented. (The bills amount includes January and some of December)
The Board approved the following consent agenda items:
Bob Koenegstein as High School Track Volunteer.
Facility Use Form for Renegade Baseball to use Colbert Gym.
The Board approved Scott Haxton as High School Track Assistant Coach.
The Board approved Curt Gilpin as High School Track Assistant Coach.
The Board approved Sherry Carnahan as Grade School Volleyball Assistant Coach.
The Board approved abating $176,000 working cash and permanently transferring it to the Building Fund.
The Board approved to keep the past 6 months executive session minutes as per PA85-1355 closed.
The Board approved postings for the following positions for the 2011-2012 school year:
Chester High School Principal.
High School Consumer Science Teacher.
High School English Teacher.
The Board entered into executive session at 8:39 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.
The Board returned to open session at 11:35 p.m.
The Board approved the agreement with Mr. Kittell.
The Board adjourned at 11:37 p.m.
