Ellis Grove Heritage Day Tractor Show

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Ellis Grove Heritage Day Tractor Show was recently added to the line up of summer shows by promoter Tom "Lil Governor" Moll.

It will be held June 16 at 601 Eggemeyer Plaza in Ellis Grove from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and wrap up at noon. Judging starts at noon and the awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m.

"Jerry Davis of Davis Farm Supply in Perryville is a big sponsor of this event and has assisted in the organization of this event, "Moll stated. "He has been a big help in making this event this happen."

Schedule of events will include: Noon - slow race, 1:00 p.m. - Blind Man Race, 2:00 p.m. Chain Box and many more. Classes include best of show, antique tractors, two-cylinder John Deere - all years, 1939 & older, 1940-1944, 1945-1948, 1949-1954, 1955 & up, modified tractors and stationary engines. Three trophies per class will be awarded. All makes of tractors welcome.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing.

"We are also going to do a poker run which will be at 1:00 p.m. and will go down through town and back," stated Moll. "The cost of the run will be $3.00 per hand and the money will be divided equally.

Moll also stated their will be cutting, raking and stationary hay bailing. He also added that there will be bucksaw cutting of wood, and also old time rock crusher that will be belt driven by a tractor.

An old time blacksmith will be on hand to show the crowd how it was done in the old days. Little steam engines will be on display, that will be grinding corn. Pedal Tractors will be on display. A vendor will be there showing how he builds steam engines and sells them. A variety of crafters will be there selling there for your shopping pleasure.

"There will be something for everyone young and old at our First Annual Ellis Grove Heritage Day Tractor Show, so bring the family out for a fun filled day, you won&#39;t want to miss this event," said Moll.

Food and refreshments will be available from the Ellis Grove Fire Department.

Vendors are welcome free of charge.
