Boater's Body Recovered at Rend Lake

Conservation police Monday night recovered the body of a Sesser boater who fell into the lake over the weekend while trying to refuel his boat. The body of Alan Saiz was found in a neck of the Gun Creek hunting and fishing area.

Saiz was 54 years old.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department was notified of the accident after 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The boat ran out of gas as darkness fell over the lake and began drifting. That's why searchers had no definite location on the accident and that's why it took a day to find the man's body.
