Reception for retiring Mayor Rednour Monday night

Du Quoin Mayor John Rednour will preside over his last meeting of the Du Quoin city council as the city's mayor Monday evening. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and is expected to have a very brief agenda.

Mayor Rednour has served this city for 24 years.

Residents of Southern Illinois are cordially invited to attend a public reception for the mayor in city hall at the conclusion of the meeting, expected by about 6:20 p.m.

You are invited to share in the serving of cake and punch and to extend your appreciation to Mayor Rednour and wish him well in retirement.
