New John A. Logan College President in Du Quoin Feb. 21

Perry County area active and retired clergy, their spouse or a guest are invited to an area pastor's gathering to be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p,m. The event is sponsored by the Du Quoin Ministerial Alliance and open to any area clergy. The event will be held at Sunfield United Methodist Church.

Dr. Mike Dreith, President of John A. Logan Community College will be speaking following dinner on the topic of "Helping Young Adults Stay Active and Engaged in Faith Communities."

The Du Quoin Ministerial Alliance is hosting the gathering to provide a time for area clergy and spouses to meet one another. Many area pastors that are bi-vocational do not normally have an opportunity to meet with area ecumenical ministerial groups. The clergy who participate in the Du Quoin Ministerial Alliance hope to provide a yearly opportunity for all area clergy to gather to discuss regional needs and to connect with each other.

The cost of the dinner is $8 for one person or $15 for two. The meal will be catered by Cathy Chaney Catering and includes slow roasted pork loin, loaded smashed potatoes, country style green beans, buttered corn, garden salad and dessert.
