DMS celebrates library week

Marilyn Crain of the Du Quoin Middle School Library hosted a celebration of National Library week with special contests, including trivia questions and guessing the number of M & M's in a jar.

There were daily prizes and $50 and $15 gift cards to places like Barnes & Noble book store.

National Library Week (April 14 - 20) was a week to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources for families to library business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all.

This year's theme was "Communities matter @ your library," reminding all Americans that the library can help you and your family discover a new and exciting world through collections, digital resources and more. Caroline Kennedy was the honorary chair of this year's celebration.
