Street Machines after-party may keep crowd on grounds

After the engines are shut down, the party will be just beginning at the 2013 Street Machine Nationals, which returns to Southern Illinois next month.

Organizers of the event announced Sunday they would introduce "Street Machines After Hours" at this year's event, a street party sponsored by RNR Wheels & Tires of Marion. The party will take place on Derby Lane at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds and will feature bands who call Southern Illinois home, said fairground manager John Rednour Jr.

Street Machines shuts down at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 28, and 7 p.m. on Saturday June 29.

"Over on Derby Lane, things will just be getting started," Rednour said. "We are going to start the party at 7 p.m. and go until midnight both nights."

Bands include:

• The hard rocking Hails Boys, featuring music from Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent and others.

• Cache River Band, well known throughout the region for their outlaw country music.

• We've Got It Covered, a classic rock/country band that opened for the legendary Lee Greenwood during the 2012 Du Quoin State Fair.

• The Real Deal with Casey James, featuring music inspired by legendary guitarists Stevie Ray Vaughan and Robert Johnson.
