Planning for 600 at Saturday night deputy's benefit
Volunteers are planning for upwards of 600 people at this Saturday night's benefit for Perry County deputy Chris Harvey, fiancée of Kathleen Kelley. Serving is from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the K of C Hall in Pinckneyville.
Chris recently had surgery to remove a brain tumor, Type III cancer. Due to the tumor "spidering" out, they were unable to remove it completely. He will not be able to start treatment until after rehabilitation and he is healed from the surgery. All proceeds will go to Chris and his family to aid with expenses.
At the benefit there will be an afternoon poker run, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, food & live music by 4Play! Tickets are $10 each or $15 per couple.
If you are unable to attend, monetary donations can be made at Murphy Wall State Bank in Pinckneyville or Murphysboro under "Chris Harvey Benefit Fund."
