Stacey's Field Of Dreams fund-raiser is Sept. 21

The Tamaroa Summer League is hosting a benefit Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 which will include a slow pitch softball tournament, t-shirts, food concessions and a raffle. The benefit has two very important purposes.

First, the Tamaroa Summer League has seen an increase in members in recent years. With the added players comes more teams. With only two fields, the more teams there are the more difficult it becomes to schedule games and practices to ensure that each team has an equal amount of field time. It is the league's goal to build a third field that will alleviate this problem.

The second and most important purpose for this tournament is to remember and honor the late Stacey Heck Lively Fox. Stacey was a past president of the summer league for many years. She spent countless hours working to improve the summer ball program and to provide a great experience for the children of this community as they learned to play baseball and softball. While Stacey was President, some of her larger accomplishments included the expansion of league participants, a permanent concession stand, lights added to the front diamond, new fencing, repaired backstops and a batting cage was added.

Because of Stacey's dedication and the love that so many from this community have for her, the league is proud to name the new addition, Stacey's Field of Dreams.
