Vendor Appreciation Day Saturday at the Du Quoin Farmers Market
Du Quoin Farmers Market vendors will provide free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts this Saturday, Sept. 28 as a special customer appreciation day at Keyes City Park from 7:30 to 11 a.m.
All regular and new customers are welcome to come out and have a special treat, courtesy of the vendors this Saturday morning. "We realize that were it not for our customers, there would be no market," Farmers Market spokesman Don Hirsch said.
Present offerings at the market include tomatoes, peppers, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, craft items, zucchini, fresh eggs, lawn swings, new potatoes, green beans, various types of squash, jellies, melons, fresh frozen pork and beef and some lettuce.
"There are still tomatoes available, but they are winding down fast, due to the cool nights. There may possibly be some late sweet corn, although the dry weather for the last month and a half caused many plantings to ripen prematurely." Hirsch added.
Some people believe the market will end in September, but it will continue though the last Saturday in October. Come out and enjoy the hospitality of the Du Quoin Farmers Market vendors this Saturday morning and pick up some fresh produce.
