New year, new taxi service in Du Quoin

The City of Du Quoin has issued an operating license to Kurt and Cathy Johnson who will do business starting today as the Johnson Cab Co. The couple will provide 24-hour transportation service seven days a week from their home at 39 South Linden Street in Du Quoin. The operating license is being issued after the couple fulfilled all of the city's public transportation requirements. A copy of that ordinance is available at city hall in Du Quoin. The service is fully insured and you do not have to schedule pickups ahead of time. You will be picked up just as soon as the vehicle is available. "We saw the need for a quality taxi cab service in Du Quoin," said Johnson. "Our customers can call on demand. We will charge by the trip," he said. "You can find out their fee schedule by calling the Johnson Cab Co. at 618-318-7554. The Johnsons will service Du Quoin, Tamaroa and Dowell with a pledge, "We will get you where you need to go."
