Former Murray Center employee signs on as budget, cash manager at the Du Quoin State Fair
Completely unrelated to the resignation of John Rednour as manager of the Du Quoin State Fair comes an announcement that a former employee of the financially troubled Warren Murray Developmental Center in Centralia has signed on as a business assistant at the fair.
Her name is Julie Myers and she is filling the vacancy created by the retirement last summer of long-time employee Lyndal Graff.
Like Graff, Myers will oversee the fair's budget, procurement, work of the central cash office during the fair and contract work involving vendors and entertainers.
She has been on staff at the fair since the first of the year.
Three days after the Rednour resignation, life goes on for the fair staff.
Staff members say they are planning for the 2014 fair--trying to come up with a theme for the fair--and start-up work on signing stage entertainers, free entertainment on the grounds, more vendors and identifying new sponsors.
