Du Quoin barber Dallas Bigham called back for the third time to officiate in IHSA basketball finals

The Illinois High School Association has asked Du Quoin barber Dallas Bigham to return to Champaign in eight days to serve as a basketball official during the Class 1A/2A finals in Champaign March 14 & 15.

What will impress you the most about this is the fact that the IHSA has a longstanding rule of allowing of allowing no official to come back more than twice.

The invitation mirrors a profound respect the IHSA has for Bigham.

"I will have one game on Friday and one game on Saturday," he says.

He won't know what his assignments will be until he gets to Champaign that weekend and participates in an officials meeting.

Bigham, 50, has been an Illinois High School Association official for 24 years and, needless to say, this is an honor to be celebrated across Du Quoin.
