Du Quoin pool upgrades make a splash

More than 400 turned out under warm spring skies for the community open house at the newly refurbished municipal pool in Du Quoin, which was unveiled for the first time to the public after an ongoing effort to repair cracks in the foundation and end longstanding leaking issues.

More than half the cost of the upgrades was funded by private donations, while the rest came from funds the school district has been repaying the city.
