One charged following gunfire on Grand Avenue
A Carbondale man faces multiple charges after an incident involving weapons last week.
Carbondale Police say they arrested Kaliyah D. Parker, 23, following an incident that took place around 10:25 p.m. March 21 in the 900 block of East Grand Avenue.
At that time, officers responded to a report of a person brandishing a firearm during a dispute. Officers found a group of individuals engaged in an argument and heard a gunshot near their location. Officers eventually located two loaded firearms that had been discarded in the area and arrested Parker.
Parker was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. He is charged with possession of a firearm with revoked FOID, reckless discharge of a firearm and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. His first appearance is set for April 24.
Police continue to investigate.
