Summer reading: Gnome bowling at Du Quoin library

After listening to librarian Kristina Benson read a book about gnomes, children constructed gnome hats and enjoyed a game of garden gnome bowling. It was part of the activities Thursday at the Du Quoin Public Library's family summer reading program. There were 35 children in attendance. This week's activities, which begin at 2 p.m. each day, include 'Crystal Egg Geodes' on Tuesday, July 16; 'Construction Workers Play Day' on Wednesday, July 17; and 'Mine for Stones' on Thursday, July 18.
