Woodworth & Co. land new events for fairgrounds within two weeks of Street NATS press conference

Since a Du Quoin State Fair press conference two weeks ago where it was announced that the Street Machine Nationals had signed a three-year contract, manager Shannon Woodworth and his staff have been busy.

Part of the press conference was devoted to announcing the fair is on the hunt for more non-fair events.

Wishes granted.

"The media attention we gained is already paying off," said Woodworth.

Woodworth on Monday shared the success of that search. Here are new events the fair will host.

• Return of American Motorcycle Association national motorcycle races for the Magic Mile in late July 2015.

• Flat track racing in the Southern Illinois Center in December.

• National Area 4 Show for miniature horses and Shetland ponies June 2015

• Mid America National Motorcross banquet and practice January 2,3 and 4, 2015

• Three-state regional sheep show for spring 2015

• Working on the preview show for three-state Hereford association for Fall 2015
