Street Machine Nationals talks Feb. 28
Du Quoin State Fair manager John Rednour, Jr. will meet with one or more representatives of Indianapolis-based Family Events on February 28 to begin planning for the return of the Street Machine Nationals to the Du Quoin State Fair.
In the meantime the Du Quoin City Council has approved a list of new auxiliary police officers to help shore up security for the event.
They are: Jan Phillips, Perry King, David Brock and part-time officers Charlie Kuhnert, John Morgan, Sarah Stevenson and Evan Booker.
Southern Illinois is gearing up for the return of the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals coming June 28-30, 2013 to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds as Car Craft Magazine and event producers Family Events begins planning for the historic return.
The Street Machine Nationals called the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds home for 13 years, ending its run in 1998.
This event was legendary for its hardcore horsepower, cool classics and plenty of big block engines. This national celebration of horsepower and dream machines will showcase the same as the grounds will swell with beautiful, high-performance street machines, hot rods, and street trucks from across the nation.
