BENEFIT FUNDRAISER
The Chester Eagles will host a benefit fundraiser for Jody Wingerter, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in January, on Saturday, April 23.
Events include a bags tournament starting at 11 a.m. ($20 per team and sign-up on that day), a silent auction (11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.), spaghetti dinner (4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.), live auction (6:30 p.m.) and dance (8 p.m.).
KIDS HEALTH FAIR
Chester Memorial Hospital is hosting a Kids Health and Wellness party on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The free event is for children ages 12 and younger. The Chester Fire Department, Chester Police Department, MedStar Ambulance, Randolph County Sheriff's Office and ARCH Air Services are scheduled to be on hand for vehicle tours.
Interactive booths include poison control, infection prevention and babysitting/CPR information. Free healthy snacks and drinks will also be available.
TRIVIA NIGHT
The Coulterville VFW will be the site of a Trivia Night on Saturday starting at 7 p.m.
The event is hosted by the Coulterville Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 6865. All proceeds go toward the VFW Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.
Entry is $10 per person with a max of eight persons per team. A cash prize is awarded to the first place team.
A 50/50 drawing and silent auction will also be feature. Participants can also purchase chances at an iPad Mini.

SPARTA DAYS IN THE PARK
Swyear Amusement rides returned to Sparta fairgrounds this week, with sessions continuing through Saturday.
Today's and Friday's sessions are from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday's sessions are from noon to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Armbands are $20 for each session. Also Friday is a demolition derby starting at 7 p.m. ($10 for age 12 and up, $5 for ages 6-11 and free for children age 5 and under).
Saturday night's event is a truck pull, also starting at 7 p.m. Entry is $5 for ages 6 and up and fireworks will follow the truck pull.
