<p class="p1">SCHOOL FESTIVAL

<p class="p1">St. Andrew School in Murphysboro (724 Mulberry St.) is having its annual school festival on Friday, Aug. 12, and Saturday, Aug. 13.

<p class="p1">The schedule is as follows:

<p class="p1">Friday

<p class="p1">4-8 p.m.: All-you-can eat fish fry at Knights of Columbus Hall (606 Plum St.)

<p class="p1">4:30 p.m.-10 p.m.: Silent auction bidding

<p class="p1">5-9:30 p.m.: Kids' games and inflatables

<p class="p1">5:30-10 p.m.: Bingo in school gym (cash or quilt prizes)

<p class="p1">5-7 p.m.: Lewis Creek performs

<p class="p1">7-11 p.m.: Chris Stone performs

<p class="p1">Saturday

<p class="p1">4-8 p.m.: All-you-can eat fried chicken at Knights of Columbus Hall (606 Plum St.)

<p class="p1">4:30 p.m.-10 p.m.: Silent auction bidding

<p class="p1">5-9:30 p.m.: Kids' games and inflatables

<p class="p1">5:30-10 p.m.: Bingo in school gym (cash or quilt prizes)

<p class="p1">4-7 p.m.: Honey & Tar performs

<p class="p1">SPAGHETTI DINNER

<p class="p1">The Chester High School football team will host a spaghetti dinner at the Chester Eagles on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Chester Eagles.

<p class="p1">Tickets are $8 for adults and kids 14-and-under are $5. A $200 lotto ticket basket will also be raffled off.

<p class="p1">All proceeds are to benefit the Yellow Jacket football program.

<p class="p1">MUSTANG AND CORVETTE SHOW

<p class="p1">The third annual Andy's Autobody Mustang and Corvette Show will take place Sunday, Aug. 14, at Chester High School.

<p class="p1">This year's event is geared toward Veterans, will all proceeds to benefit VFW Kaskaskia Post 3553 in Chester.

<p class="p1">"I'd like to invite everybody out to support the Veterans," said event promoter Tom "Lil' Governor" Moll. "The Honor Guard will walk through the car show and Red Dot will have its big American flag out.

<p class="p1">"Jackie Hopkins will also be singing the national anthem."

<p class="p1">Entry fee for the event is $15, while display only is $10. Registration will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 14, with awards to be presented at 3 p.m.

<p class="p1">Jour de Fete

<p class="p1">Ste. Genevieve's Jour de Fete takes place this weekend, with the annual festival running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

<p class="p1">The festival will feature arts and craft shows in the historic district downtown, while the World Bird Sanctuary of St. Louis will be in the Felix Valle House (Merchant and 2nd Street).

<p class="p1">Music will also be in the Lions Club Park.

<p class="p1">Coulterville Community Picnic

<p class="p1">The Coulterville Community Picnic, sponsored by the Coulterville Fire Department, will take place Aug. 11 through 13 at Coulterville City Park with rides, food and games.

<p class="p1">Sparta Night Out

<p class="p1">Sparta Night Out takes place on Saturday, with free swimming from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

<p class="p1">Sparta police, fire, MedStar, Arch, National Guard and more will be out at 4 p.m.

<p class="p1">Hot dogs, chips, popsicles and drinks will be available around 4 p.m., with the flashlight walk at 8 p.m.

<p class="p1">Certified infant car seat installation will be available, as will bicycle registration.
