Du Quoin fireworks will be held Thursday, July 3 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds

Readers are reminded that the annual Du Quoin fireworks display will be held this year on Thursday, July 3 at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

The City of Du Quoin will split the $6,000 cost of this year's fireworks with Du Quoin Tourism. A company called Melrose Fireworks will begin lighting the display at dusk. Having the fireworks a day early will allow families to enjoy the Fourth of July with their own family celebrations.
