Auctions, food & music make Saturday's charity ball this weekend's best ticket
The Annual 26th Charity Ball is promising to be "the event of the year" with good food, great auction and raffle items and awesome entertainment! This year's Charity Ball is Saturday, March 8 to be held at the Exhibition Hall, Du Quoin State Fair. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, raffles and silent auction. The buffet dinner will be served 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. with Cathy Chaney and Ricky Rover Rooter Roasters providing the food and Mark's Bakery, Kalin's Café and Margie's Catering providing delightful desserts. The live auction will begin at 8 p.m. and is offering some wonderful items.
The raffles will include the ever-popular "Pick of the Litter" Raffle, the "shotgun raffle", a cocktail ring and the return of the "Draw Down" raffle, which guarantees a $3,000 payout!
Along with the raffles will be a wonderful assortment of silent auction items. And, of course, the showcase of the evening will be the addition of the "super silent" as well as the live auction.
A brief listing of the Super silent and live auction items is as follows: one-year family membership to Doc Z's Fitness with 12 personal training sessions, John A. Logan and Rend Lake College tuition waivers, Mathis and Sons $1,000 scholarship to your choice of JALC, Rend Lake or SIU, 5-night vacation to Virgin Islands, 7-Night vacation to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, 46" flat screen TV, 2013 country mega ticket, NASCAR racing experience, Orlando vacation with passes to Disney World, Sea World and water park plus more!
The host for the charity ball is Keenan Rice and auctioneers, Steve McGriff and Randy Juenger, will again provide an entertaining and lively auction.
The live entertainment will feature three groups, who will perform all throughout the evening. "The Eisenhauer Band" will begin the entertainment with their bluegrass folk and Americana music. The next segment of the entertainment will feature the band, "We Got It Covered" playing country/classic rock. Rounding out the entertainment for the evening will be the band "Hashtag Pop" playing Top 40 rock. The evening will end with Nathan Armstrong providing DJ music, and he is also providing all the sound equipment for the evening.
