New Belt Tech building in Du Quoin Industrial Park nears completion

An Indiana-based conveyor belt service company called Belt Tech Inc., which came to Du Quoin three years ago, is nearing completion on construction of its new 60 x 200 foot conveyor belt service center in the southwest corner of the Du Quoin Industrial Park.

Manager Joe Folden said Monday, "Things are going quite well. We still have to add parking. But, we are operating here, now." The company had previously operated out of the Heartland Ford building on Rt. 51 south of Du Quoin. We are installing some new equipment that will let us take care of an 84-inch wide belt width. Belt Tech provides complete conveyor belt installation, repair and restoration service for coal mining, rock quarries and agribusiness and services a 250-mile radius around Du Quoin. The Du Quoin location has 16-17 employees.

Economic director Jeff Ashauer says additionally that Burke Manufacturing plans to relocate to the industrial park and there is also a transportation project being considered, as well.
