Police night in the park

The Du Quoin Police Department in cooperation with first responders and emergency personnel across the area will sponsor the seventh annual Family Night in Keyes Park on Saturday, Aug. 10 beginning at 2 p.m.

Officer Chris Robinson of the Du Quoin Police Department organizes the event, which features displays, games, food and in past years a movie in the park for kids.

The newspaper will provide complete information as the event nears.

The police department is seeking donations from businesses to help sponsor the various events for children.

Robinson asks that you make a donation to: Family Night in the Park, in care of the Du Quoin Police Association.

It can be dropped off at the police department or mail it to the Du Quoin Police Department at 304 East Poplar Street in Du Quoin, Ill. 62832. The police department's work also includes the annual Shop With a Cop program in December.
