Perry County Fair opens Saturday

Preparations are underway for the annual Perry County Fair, the state's oldest continuous fair.

Staying true to its roots, the fair features youth and adult livestock shows, horse racing and a home show. Again this year, baby and child photo contest entries will be on display in the grandstand.

Sunshine Amusements will have carnival rides Wednesday through Saturday evenings. The beer tent is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, as well.

Monday, June 10

1 p.m.- Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse Racing

7:30 p.m.- Miss and Jr. Miss Perry County Pageant

Tuesday, June 11

3 p.m.- Harness Racing

7:30 p.m.- Little Miss Perry County Pageant

Wednesday, June 12

6 p.m.- Bluegrass Music featuring Beaucoup Creek, Charlie and the Girls and Cudgetown Road

9:30 p.m.- Fireworks Show

Thursday, June 13

7 p.m.- Comedy Night with Chris Smith and David Graham

Friday, June 14

7 p.m.- Demo Derby

9 p.m.- Beaucoup Bottom Band

Saturday, June 15

7 p.m.- ITPA Tractor Pull
