A Better Present: Du Quoin Third Grade Class Raises $140 to Send Two Orphans to School

For Du Quoin career educator Donna Davison it has never been "all about me" but instead it has been "all about the children" and that is true at Christmas.

Instead of students buying gifts for their beloved third grade teacher (but, of course, they will), she challenged them to raise $70 through a world relief project called World Vision to raise $70 to send an orphan to school for a year.

Boy, did they answer the challenge. Instead, they raised $140, which will send to children to school. These gifts answer the prayers of children in third world countries hit hard by the AIDS epidemic to attend school. The priceless gift of education goes to children who have lost one or both parents to AIDS.
