Dr. Richard Zimmerman to Fill Harold Rice Vacancy on Marshall Browning Board
Marshall Browning Hospital is pleased to welcome Richard Zimmerman, DC to the Marshall Browning Hospital Board of Directors. Dr. Zimmerman replaces retiring director, Harold Rice, who provided 38 years of dedicated service to the hospital board.
Dr. Zimmerman (Doc Z) is a lifelong resident of Southern Illinois and has been practicing in the area since 1993. As a Chiropractor with experience, Dr. Zimmerman is committed to providing optimal health and the well being of his patients. Dr. Zimmerman and his wife, Michelle, have four children: Maxim, Alex, Drew and Anthony. He enjoys spending time with his family and attending sporting events.
Dr. Zimmerman joins other directors who volunteer their time on the hospital board including Dan Eaves, Susan Engelhardt, Dr. Craig Furry, Brad Galli, Chuck Genesio, Richard Haines, Don Hoffman, Mark Maclin, David Searby Jr. and Kathy West.
Marshall Browning Hospital is a non-profit charitable organization. The hospital is a 25-bed acute care hospital. It also operates Marshall Browning Estates, a 22-unit independent living center, Marshall Browning Rehabilitation Center, and offers 15 specialty clinics bringing a variety of specialists to the hospital from the St. Louis and southern Illinois area. The hospital also operates Marshall Browning Medical Clinic on its campus offering the primary family care practice of Dr. Beth Bigham, Dr. Gladstone Tucker, and Felicia Kimbrough, Family Nurse Practitioner and the surgery practice of Dr. Terrence Hall. Marshall Browning Hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval, the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
Dr. Zimmerman is a graduate of John A. Logan College, Southern Illinois University, and Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis. He is a board certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. Additional certifications include myofascial release, acupuncture, and an advanced certification in whiplash from the Spine Institute of San Diego, CA. Other post-graduate training includes orthopedics and rehabilitation. Dr. Zimmerman stays up to date on the latest advances in chiropractic care through extensive research, training and seminars around the nation.
Dr. Zimmerman is also the proud owner of Doc Z's Fitness in Du Quoin. The mission statement of the gym is "To help as many people as possible achieve the benefits of a healthy lifestyle." Doc Z's is designed to improve every aspect of your well being and enhance your quality of life.
