Fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 26 For Aiden Menefee

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Family and friends of Heath and Tessa (Kellerman) Menefee, of Pinckneyville, are holding a poker run Saturday, Sept. 26 to benefit their son, Aiden Menefee.

Aiden was born Aug. 13, 2009 with a rare heart defect. He was immediately placed on life support. His parents were told he had only a slim chance of survival. Successful open heart surgery has offered Aiden the chance to grow up alongside his brother and twin sister.

After three weeks, Aiden was able to come home. He is still on a feeding tub and oxygen.

Registration for the poker run will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at Hair Etc. (104b W. St. Louis St. in Pinckneyville) on Sept. 26. Stops on the poker run include Hwy. 127 Bar & Billiards in Murphysboro, The Perfect Shot in Herrin, IDs in Du Quoin, Southside in Nashville and end at Rush in 2 Jolly's in Du Bois.

There will be a raffle, 50/50 drawing and live music at Rush in 2 Jolly's. Bad Intentions is the band.

Cost is $15 per bike, $20 per couple, $5 for extra hands. All vehicles are welcome. Food and band will be provided at Rush in 2 Jolly's, the last stop.

The poker run is open to all vehicles.

Proceeds will help offset medical expenses for the Menefee family.
