10th Annual Ellis Grove Car Show
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The 10th Anniversary Ellis Grove Car Show put on by the Ellis Grove Fire Department is set for Sunday, July 19th. The car show runs annually on the third Sunday of July.
All proceeds of the car show go to benefit SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.
Registration for the show is set to begin at 9 a.m. and run till noon. Judging will then begin at noon with the winner presentation starting at 4:00 p.m. There is a $15 entry fee and $5 for display. Dash plaques will go out to the first 200 entries.
To try to beat the heat, there will be five large tents set up for shade. There is also going to be extra parking facilities, which means that there will be more parking available.
Plenty of delicious barbeque and refreshments will be supplied by the Ellis Grove Volunteer Fire department. There will be attendance prizes throughout the day, as well as a 50/50 drawing. The attendance prizes include: a set of tires by Thompson Tire in Perryville, MO, computerize 2-wheel alignment by Bert's Auto Service in Chester, IL, and a Battery Charger by Auto Tire and Parts in Steeleville and Chester, IL.
There are plenty of awards that can be won in the car show as well. There will three awards handed out per class.
The classes are as listed: Original and Restored 1900-1948 (cars only), Original and Restored 1949-1954 (cars only), Original and Restored 1955-1963 (cars only), Original and Restored 1964-1972 (cars only), Original and Restored 1973-1983 (cars only), and Original and Restored 1984 and newer (cars only). Also, Street Rods thru 1900-1936, Street Rods 1937-1948, Street Rods (Fiberglass only), and Rat Rods 1900-1948. Also, Street Machines 1949-1959 (cars only), Street Machines 1960-1964 (cars only), Street Machines 1965-1969 (cars only), Street Machines 1970-1979 (cars only), and Street Machines 1980 and newer (cars only). Also, Classic Chevy Original and Restored '55, '56, '57, Camaro/Firebirds Stock 1967-1982, Camaro/Firebirds Stock 1983 and newer, Mustangs Stock 1964-1975, and Mustangs Stock 1976 and newer. Also, Trucks and 4WD 1900-1972 Stock (full size), Trucks and 4WD 1973-1979 Stock (full size), Trucks and 4WF 1980 and newer Stock (full size), Trucks and 4WD 1900-1972 Modified (full size), Trucks and 4WD 1973-1979 Modified (full size), and Trucks and 4WD 1980-1999 Modified (full size). Also, Mini Trucks Stock All Years 0-3 Modifications, Mini Trucks Modified All Years 4-More Modifications, Corvettes 1953-1967 Stock, Corvettes 1968-1982 Stock, Corvettes 1984 and newer Stock, and Sports Cars All Years. Also, Motorcycles - Custom Bikes, Motorcycles - Evolutions, Motorcycles - Shovel Heads, Sports Compact Stock All Years 0-5 Modifications, Sports Compact Modified All Years 6-More Modifications, Special Interest (All Not Covered), and Under Construction All Years.
All trailored vehicles must be driven into the show area. No loud music is expected to come from the vehicles.
The specialty awards, five foot trophies, consist of Best Ford, Best Chevy, Best Mopar, Best Pontiac, Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Cycle, Fireman's Choice, Club Participation, Best Paint and Graphics, Banker's Choice and Mayor's Choice.
Best of Show will be awarded a six foot trophy sponsored by Andy's Auto Body in Chester, IL.
Ellis Grove will not be responsible for accidents and/or thefts. The show is planned to go on, rain or shine.
