Huns With Two Du Quoin Actors In Tow, Invade Rend Lake Theater
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Local theater goers get to travel back to the legendary, story-telling days of ancient China with the Pyramid Players action-packed stage adaptation of Walt Disney's "Mulan."
The Huns have invaded, and it us up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the emperor! "Mulan" is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit and features four Du Quoin cast members Anthony Pierce, Riley Carver, McKinley Carver and Lawson Ridgeway.
The play is under the direction of Benton High School drama instructor Alisa Leffler and Pam Kimball, wife of former Du Quoin High School speech coach Al Kimball.
The score includes favorites like "Reflection", "Honor to Us All" and "I'll Make a Man Out of You" as well as new songs that will bring you to your feet.
Much of the costuming battle has to find enough far eastern wigs and the last shipment was expected to arrive before the curtain rises on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m. Performances continue on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday during a 2 p.m. matinee at the Rend Lake Theater on the campus of Rend Lake College.
